I've been enjoying the emotional merry-go-round lately, I've had my happy days, stressed out days, sad days, sometimes days with more than one. A lot has been happening in life lately, sometimes it just helps to slow it down a little, write in the journal, whatever. I've started school again and it's been going well, and my brother came home from Iraq for emergency surgery two weeks ago. I haven't seen him in about 4 years, so that's been great too. (He's fine now and recovering, by the way)
But along with everything good and new happening, there is also the element of stress that just cannot be escaped. Change is always unfamiliar, as it should be. Sometimes I wish I could better deal with change, as I feel overwhelmed at times by it all.
I took my last vacation for the Summer, I went up to Put In Bay, OH for some R&R. I stayed for two nights, spent more money than I want to think about, and took about a thousand pictures with my little Canon point and shoot camera. While taking those, I singlehandedly depleted the world's AA battery supply. If the prices go up because of the shortage, I'll take the blame.
Anyways, it was a great great trip, I did a lot of relaxing and sightseeing. I went to see a lot of reenactments from the War of 1812 and the Battle of Lake Erie, and got a lot of pictures of musket fires, cannon fires, etc. I got pictures upon pictures upon pictures of everything. I even got pictures of Alpacas. hehehe Boy, they're cute.
After all that, I had a nice surprise waiting for me when I got home. My money came in the mail today, so I'm able to upgrade my camera tomorrow and as soon as I get it, I'll be taking shots with my new Nikon D90. I'm so excited, mhmmm. Also worth mentioning, are the rechargable batteries I'll be using with it. I won't have to bring 20 batteries with me on vacation, and then when I run out have to buy tons more at a premium price of $8 for a 4-pack. lol (Oh, yeah...they were also generic at that price. I don't even want to know what they would have charged for Duracell or Energizer batteries at the tourist shop.)
Sooo, all that said, and as wordy as it was, I basically wanted just to say that I'll be uploading many pictures in the coming days from my trip, I hope you enjoy
Anyone thinking of vacation, think of Put In Bay, OH. It was an awesome experience and everything was beautiful. There was so much to do that I can't even name it all in a short journal, but look on Google and check it out, it's worth the time.
Until next time!

I'm leaving you a message,
I'm leaving you a trace,
I'm leaving thoughts for you
I hope that time will not erase.

A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception which has nothing sound in it and nothing true.
